Philip Morris International (PMI) is a global company with products that are being sold in more than 180 markets. As the company looks to bring its human resources together, it has to manage 40,000 users in more than 400 sites across four continents with a communications platform that is efficient, flexible, scalable and easy to use. With a system that performs all of these qualities already in place, PMI announced it will be extending its contract with Orange Business Services to provide global communications services until the end of 2021.

Orange Business Services (News - Alert) will deliver a hybrid network and unified communications to the hundreds of sites and tens of thousands of users that are part of PMI. The hybrid network will be able to handle many of the bandwidth intensive application organizations use today. Hosted cloud services, video conferencing, webinars and rich media marketing campaigns are just some examples.

With the hybrid platform, PMI can access real time and rich media content on private or public clouds without having to worry about the security risks and reliability issues. This is an important point because PMI's employees work remotely with flexible arrangements from home, the office and other locations. The company has deployed Microsoft (News - Alert) Skype for Business to make this possible in collaboration with Orange.

“We believe that hybrid networks are the glue to make digital components come together as digital reality, and we are looking forward to our future projects with Orange Business Services,” said Terry Coates, Vice President, Global Technology (News - Alert) Services, Philip Morris International.

With Orange's hybrid network, PMI has better end-user experience with cloud and Internet for employees at all of its sites in a securely managed infrastructure with worldwide application of security policies and the use of cloud-based business applications.

Optimization of unified communications gives PMI and its employees access to enterprise apps, including voice, video and instant messaging communications securely across its entire global operation.

“We are proud to be a key business partner of PMI since 2001 and welcome the extension of our contract. We are fully on board to further support PMI’s digital transformation with our next-generation networks and commitment to provide an unmatched experience for our long-standing customer,” said Anne-Sophie Lotgering, Senior Vice President Europe, Russia & CIS, Orange Business Services.

For a large global enterprise such as PMI, managed services increase productivity by getting rid of redundancies, facilitating collaboration and giving decision makers the visibility they need to make informed decisions. With Orange Business Services, PMI is continuing its contract with a company that has made this possible for the next five years.
