ePlus Releases Cloud Aggregated Services Suite
By Casey Houser
ePlus recently launched its new Cloud Aggregated Services as a suite of tools that can help businesses assess their needs before choosing a cloud model. It can also help such transitioning businesses begin the migration to hosted infrastructure and storage, complete with installation and setup of office and communications services.
Cloud Aggregated Services, said ePlus vice president of business transformation Mike Trojecki, means to address clients’ needs to lower costs while obtaining similar performance to the on-premise applications they have come to know well.
“Cloud adoption is accelerating and changing the very essence of information technology,” Trojecki began.
“The delivery mechanism has become a lower priority than achieving the desired business outcome, scalable capacity, robust performance, reduced costs, and mitigating risk,” he continued. “Forward-thinking CIOs recognize these trends and ePlus Cloud Aggregated Services offer the best path forward.”
The new ePlus suite of services begins its mission, as previously mentioned, with an assessment of client needs and capabilities. It takes note of the applications the specific client uses and then determines whether or not a switch to the public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid model (even with keeping some software or hardware on site) is best for the company’s vision of their future. The analysis also factors in current network connectivity and shows business heads how their present capabilities must change to meet the demands of hosted software and operations.
From there, ePlus is able to offer its clients a range of cloud services such as infrastructure, storage, and backup and recovery. ePlus then may add co-location services for internet access and offer hosted software packages such as Microsoft (News - Alert) Office 365. Clients can also choose to accept hosted VoIP through ePlus.
According to its analysis of a recent Gartner report, TMC (News - Alert) commented that “cloud adoption is soaring” and that global revenue for the market could reach $204 billion this year. Companies are moving to the cloud for its ease of access and ability to save on costs. Often, it offers pricing plans in tiers for any type of service – from software to infrastructure. ePlus knows this trend well and should have the ability to capitalize on the market uptick with the new Cloud Aggregated Services.
