Unimax Granted Microsoft IT Pro Tools Partner Certification
By Casey Houser
Unimax (News - Alert) announced this week that it has been granted IT Pro Tools Partner certification from Microsoft for the development of its 2nd Nature unified communications (UC) migration and management software.
Unimax has developed 2nd Nature for many years to help solidify the various parts of UC systems, which often manifest in small and large businesses alike as a mix of vendor hardware and software that establishes a network and provides access to voice, video, and data for communications throughout the office. Businesses can wrestle with those various systems when they want to complete moves, adds, changes and deletes (MACDs), or they can adopt a centralized platform such as 2nd Nature – now certified to work with Microsoft Skype (News - Alert) for Business.
Phil Moen, the president and CEO of Unimax, commented on the benefits this provides his company and its product distributors.
“Unimax’s 2nd Nature product enables telecommunications and UC teams to unify their related voice systems (e.g. Skype for Business, Avaya, Cisco, Legacy Nortel (News - Alert), AVST, and others) with a single pane of glass administration interface,” he began. “[It] also provides powerful migration capabilities.”
He further noted that a move to Skype for Business from legacy systems could save companies from a lot of other manual tasks associated with such communications systems. First of all, 2nd Nature is able to automatically provision network resources while managing phone numbers and utilizing direct inward dialing for the convenience of employees who take direct calls. Unimax has noted in past reports that its flagship software is able to complete password resets, manage voicemail, keep track of transactions for auditing purposes, and generate reports about system usage. The management system also tries to integrate accounting tools, human resources, and access to E-911 alongside many other department functions and necessary capabilities.
Microsoft’s (News - Alert) Skype for Business is in demand across many parts of the globe. It has become one of the prominent world UC systems, and with its new feature sets, including its cloud-based private branch exchange that has made the jump from the U.S. to the U.K. in recent months, it is poised to grow even more. Third party tools such as 2nd Nature only serve to bolster that native growth.
