Happy Saturday! You’d think it was awards seasons with so many companies being recognized on the Lync Migration site this week. GTT’s SIP Trunking received recognition, as did Arkadin.NTT (News - Alert) Communications. This week also highlighted changes being made to Microsoft Office in an attempt to keep customers from going astray. With that in mind, let’s take a look back at the past few days.

The week started off with news that Microsoft (News - Alert) Office has updated three of its main programs—Word, PowerPoint and Excel. In recent years, Microsoft has lost out on some business due to the popularity of sites like Google (News - Alert) Docs that allow users to share and edit their documents in real time with other people. That feature is incredibly popular because it makes collaboration much easier. So, Microsoft has decided to get in on the action by producing some updates of its own. You can find all of the details HERE.

Moving into awards territory, GTT Communications, Inc.’s SIP Trunking service was just recognized by TMC (News - Alert) with the 2016 Communications Solutions Product of the Year Award. The company’s SIP Trunking enhances enterprise collaboration by combining diverse communications capabilities, such as voice video and chat, over a single IP connection. The service provides several beneficial capabilities that are useful to customers, and that consequently got GTT recognized for providing one of the best solutions brought to market in the past 12 months. You can read all about the service and award HERE.

On the same note, Arkadin and NTT Communications (News - Alert) were ranked as Challenger in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant study. TMC’s Steve Anderson reports that the Challenger ranking is likely the second-best ranking a company can have in the Magic Quadrant, so this ranking is a big deal for Arkadin and NTT Communications. You can find all the details on why they received this ranking HERE.

While some exciting news has been highlighted here, that’s certainly not all that went on this week. Be sure to head to the Lync Migration homepage for all the updates, and come back next week for the latest insights. Have a great Labor Day weekend!
